Training at the Keith Traylor Criminal Justice Center

Mission

The mission of the Manvel Police Department Training Division is to deliver exceptional, modern, and relevant training to our officers, partner agencies, and other public safety professionals who may benefit. We strive to prepare law enforcement personnel to exemplify professionalism, sound judgment, and excellence within their roles.

The Keith Traylor Criminal Justice Center is dedicated to providing instruction that reflects current best practices, emerging trends, and evolving community needs. Our goal is to exceed all standards established by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) and to support the ongoing personal and career development of those who serve. Through innovative and effective training, we work to ensure our department remains at the forefront of law enforcement readiness and community service.

Attendee Rules

Arrival & Attendance
Attendees must arrive by the scheduled start time of any training held at the Keith Traylor Criminal Justice Center or other designated locations. If an attendee anticipates a delay, they are responsible for notifying the Training Division as soon as possible.

Dress Code
All attendees are required to dress in either their agency-approved uniform or professional attire. Acceptable attire includes collared or button-up shirts, slacks, or jeans without holes, tears, or excessive wear.

Training held at specialized locations—such as firearms ranges, defensive tactics areas, or outdoor environments—may require specific attire. Attendees must follow the dress code appropriate to that training location or instructor guidance.

Sweatshirts, hoodies, and graphic T-shirts are not permitted.

Carrying Weapons
Attendees not in full uniform who choose to carry their duty weapon must ensure their shirt is tucked in, their weapon is holstered and secured with a proper belt, and their department badge is clearly visible at all times.
