Patrol

The patrol division is made up of a Patrol Captain, two Lieutenants, four Sergeants, four Corporals, twenty patrol officers, four traffic units, and two reserve officers. The patrol division is responsible for patrolling the city's streets, responding to calls for service, and enforcing criminal and traffic laws.

IMG_2090Captain Day is a seasoned law enforcement professional with over 13 years of experience, having served with multiple Texas agencies, including the Hitchcock, Holiday Lakes, and Hilcrest Village Police Departments. He began his law enforcement career in 2002 and joined the Manvel Police Department in 2017 as a reserve officer, becoming a full-time patrol officer in 2018.

Over his career, Captain Day has spent nine years in dedicated patrol service and has built a strong background in supervision and management. He was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2021 and to Patrol Captain in 2023. In his current role, he oversees the Patrol and Traffic Divisions, manages the agency’s vehicle fleet, coordinates the Field Training Program, and handles policy development and review. He also leads the department's Drone Division, expanding the agency’s capabilities in aerial support and situational awareness.

Captain Day holds an Advanced Peace Officer license through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) and has accumulated over 2,200 hours of certified training. He specializes in traffic enforcement and crash investigations, holding Intermediate, Advanced, and Reconstruction certifications in collision analysis.

He is a certified firearms instructor, Taser instructor, drone pilot, and collision reconstructionist, and has served in multiple specialized roles, including Field Training Officer and Traffic Unit officer.

Captain Day is also a proud recipient of the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award and is the first officer at the Manvel Police Department to graduate from the Texas Police Chiefs Association Law Enforcement Command Officer Program (LECOP #119)—a significant milestone demonstrating his commitment to leadership and professional excellence.

With a passion for mentorship and department development, Captain Day continues to serve the Manvel community with integrity, driving forward the growth, training, and operational effectiveness of the Patrol Division.
