The City of Manvel is informing utility customers of a change to online payment processing for utility bills. Beginning January 2026, a 2.00% processing fee will be applied to online payments made for utility services in the Municipal Payment Portal. This change is being implemented because the City is no longer subsidizing the third-party processing fees associated with online transactions. Applying the fee ensures that the cost of processing is covered by those who use online payment methods, rather than being absorbed by all ratepayers.
Customers can avoid processing fees by completing an Electronic Check (ACH) Automatic Payment Plan form and returning it to Utility Billing via email, mail, or in-person drop-off. Automatic payments will occur on the 25th day of every month.
The City of Manvel remains committed to providing multiple payment options while responsibly managing operational costs. Utility customers are encouraged to review their payment preferences in the Municipal Payment Portal and update their accounts as needed.
