Police Pursue Drunken Driver
October 2, 2005

On Sunday, October 2, 2005 at approximately 2:10 a.m., Officer Enloe clocked a vehicle traveling southbound on SH288 at 98 MPH. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver failed to yield initiating a short vehicle pursuit.

The pursuit lasted approximately six (6) minutes and involved Manvel Police Department, Brazoria County Sheriff's Department and Pearland Police Department. The vehicle traveled south on SH288 to CR48 where it then turned back northbound. The vehicle went off in the grass and spun out, returned to the road, and continued back northbound on SH288. The vehicle continued northbound on SH288 and exited FM518. The vehicle was trying to turn eastbound on FM518, but was blocked by a Pearland Police Officer. The vehicle stopped at the intersection of SH288, northbound service road, and FM518. The driver was taken into custody without incident.

The driver was arrested for Evading, Driving While Intoxicated, and Driving While License Suspended.
