Narrative of Incident:

At approximately 9:40 pm on December 1, 2005, Officers were dispatched to the 7500 block of Louden Lane to investigate a body discovered underneath a truck.  Preliminary investigation revealed that a 70-year-old female had apparently been run over by her own vehicle and became lodged underneath. A neighbor who lives nearby noticed the victim’s truck parked with the headlights on when he got home that evening, but did not see the incident occur. Later, he noticed that the vehicle was still parked at the same location with the headlights on and was concerned with his elderly neighbor.  He went to investigate and made the tragic discovery.

It is unknown how the elderly female was run over, but it appears that she may have forgotten to place her vehicle in park when stopping to exit her vehicle. It appears she was then knocked down by the driver’s side door and became trapped underneath her vehicle, as it proceeded to run over her.

There is no apparent appearance of foul-play; however, the Manvel Police Department is treating this incident as a homicide pending further investigation.
