Manvel Police Department in Full Force During Rita

Police Chief Ralph Garcia has called in all Manvel Police Department Personnel in anticipation of Hurricane Rita. At 2:00 PM, September 21, 2005, all police officers, communication officers, IT staff, and police administration have been on alert in preparation of the storm.

"During the evacuation our whole force was out patrolling and directing traffic in order to minimize the headache and frustrations of evacuating the area," Chief Ralph Garcia states. "Our officers will be out patrolling in shifts of three officers and one supervisor to help minimize the temptation for looters on the business inside of Manvel, as well as the residences," continues Chief Garcia.

Manvel Police personnel will be on full alert until after things settle down in the Gulf and business is restored to normal operations.
