Narrative of
Incident: |
|
|
At approximately 3:46 pm, Manvel Police
Department received a panic alarm from the First
National Bank. Additionally, Manvel Police also
received a 911 call from a bank employee
confirming that a robbery had occurred and gave
a description of the actors and a description of
the get-away vehicle. A short time later, a
Brazoria County Sheriff’s deputy patrolling the
area of 288 between Manvel and Pearland heard
the police radio broadcast and located a vehicle
matching the description given by the bank
employee. The deputy (Leonard Bustos) initiated
a traffic stop on 288 north bound just south of
C.R. 101 and detained the individuals. His
initial investigation revealed that the suspects
had a large amount of money and what appeared to
be two semi-auto pistols. (later learned to be
realistic looking toys)
Further investigation confirmed that the money
did come from the First National Bank in Manvel
and the suspects were formally charged with
aggravated Robbery, a Felony of the 1st
degree and bail for both was set at $100,000.
